Non-Academic Career Resources

Many OSE graduate students are interested in non-academic careers in government, non-profits, or industry. Here, we compile some resources that may aid in the non-academic job search.

Online Resources

  • ESA has organized several recorded “Ecology Careers in Focus” webinars that can be viewed.
  • Check out the Exploring Ecological Careers series in Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment Journal
  • The NSF LTER-Network held a series of panels for non-academic careers in Spring 2020 that can be viewed here. Topics include NGO, Foundation, and Government Scientists, Science Coordination/Data Scientist, and Science Communications and Outreach.
